Talks are due to get underway later at the Labour Relations Commission between management and workers at the Vita Cortex plant in Cork.
32 members of staff at the foam packaging factory have been staging a sit in at the company’s building since December 16th, in protest over their redundancy payments.

Vita Cortex owner Jack Ronan says he cannot afford to pay them their redundancy entitlements.
The staff are seeking a 1.2 million euro redundancy package – that’s 2.9 weeks per year of service for each worker.
