Sharon Collins has lost her appeal against her convictions for soliciting a man to murder her wealthy lover PJ Howard and his two sons.
The 48 year old from Kildysart, Ennis, Co Clare was in court for the ruling this afternoon.
Wearing black trousers and a grey buttoned up jacket the 48 year old appeared in court for barely a minute to hear the 3 judges dismiss her appeal.
Sharon Collins aka lyingeyes was convicted in 2008 of soliciting so called internet hitman for hire Essam Eid to murder her wealthy lover PJ Howard and his two sons, Robert and Niall.
The jury found Eid was not a hitman but a Las Vegas poker dealer come con man.
In a 42 page judgment the court rejected claims that the trial judge failed to properly direct the jury on an alibi witness and it’s ruled that he gave a succinct and clear explanation as to how the jury should approach the solicitation charges.
Sharon Collins will serve out her 6 year sentence though it’s expected she’ll be released from Mountjoy at the end of next year.
