The future of the Ennis based Lynch Hotel Group could be decided by the High Court today.
It’s hoped around 500 jobs at hotels including the West County in Ennis, the Clare Inn in Dromoland and the Ocean Cove in Kilkee, can be saved provided proposals put forward following the examinership process are accepted.
The Lynch Hotel Group is Ireland’s largest family owned hotel chain with hotels in Clare, Limerick and Mayo and went into voluntary examinership in July due to spiralling debts in excess of 22 million.
Ennis Town Council and many local businesses will right off much of the money owed to them as part of the examiners proposals, while hotel staff have agreed to cuts to restore competitiveness and ensure the future of their jobs.
