The Fianna Fail Senator who lodged a complaint to the European Commission over Shannon Airport’s independence is being challenged to withdraw his allegations.
It follows the Transport Minister’s insistance that the process of seperation, whereby the MidWest Airport was placed on a debt free status, didn’t amount to a bailout.

Senator Marc Mac Sharry claims the government’s action will adversly impact on Knock but this is being rejected by Clare Fine Gael TD Pat Breen who raised the matter at yesterday’s Transport Committee meeting.
