Main Parties Consider Putting Water Charges On Hold

Negotiating teams from Fianna Fail and Fine Gael have been working overnight on new proposals in relation to the future of Irish water.

The Irish Times reports that both parties have agreed to put a hold on water charges, until a new system with generous allowances is put in place.

Talks between the parties are set to resume today as Fine Gael continues in its efforts to try and form a minority Government.

The Triple A TD Paul Murphy, believes that since the General Election there's been a significant increase in people not paying their water bills.

He believes it's time for Fine Gael to back down on the issue.
