Last ditch talks to try and resolve the ongoing row between management and staff at Element Six resumed at the Labour Court.
It comes as tomorrow’s deadline by management to reach agreement or revert to the original plan looms and follows the failure of talks with IBEC and ICTU on the company’s sustainability plan to save.
The plan would see 163 jobs retained but unions are unhappy with the terms being offered to the 200 or so staff being let go.
Company sources have again warned the deadline for talks is tomorrow and if no resolution is found by then, management will revert back to the original wind up plan which involves the loss of 370 jobs and all manufacturing and distribution at the Shannon plant.
