Man Accused Of North Clare Murder Receives Bail

The North Clare man accused of murdering a Ballyvaughan woman has been granted bail, but has been told he must stay away from the village.

39-year-old Colm Deely is accused of killing Deirdre McCarthy on March 28th last – the 43 year old had been reported missing following a night out with friends, and her body was found washed up on the shore at Fanore beach three days later.

A hearing of Ennis District Court has approved the bail terms that Deely secured at the High Court last month, part of which say he cannot go within a 30 km radius of Ballyvaughan.

Judge Joseph Mangan also remanded Deely to re-appear before the court on July 8th, at which time Gardai say they hope the Book of Evidence in the case would be ready
