A man arrested in connection with a burglary at a shop in Ennis has been released without charge.
Around 1.30am last Thursday morning, the intruder alarm in a shop on the Gort Road was activated and the Roads Policing Unit, who were nearby at the time, responded and discovered the front door of the shop had been smashed in.
A man in his 30s was in the shop and attempted to flee with stolen property, but was apprehended following a short foot chase.

The man was arrested and detained at Ennis Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
He’s since been released without charge and a file is being prepared for the DPP.
