Gardaí in Donegal are investigating a suspected hit and run.
At about twenty to one this morning the body of the man – aged in his 40s – was found on the carriageway of the N15 at Parkhill approximately 1 mile from Ballyshannon town.

A preliminary examination carried out at the scene suggests the man was struck by a passing motorist.
His body remains at the scene this morning – which has been preserved pending a technical and forensic examination.
The road is closed to traffic and diversions are in place.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses and in particular to anyone who travelled on the road between midnight and twenty to one this morning to contact them at Ballyshannon Garda Station – or the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111.
