Gardaí are continuing to question a man after a car – with a child inside – was stolen near Meelick yesterday.
The vehicle was parked outside a shop on the Old Cratloe Road when a 32 year old man approached it, removed two children and sped off with a two year old passenger still inside.

The child was dumped a mile down the road before the man crashed the car in an area near Knockalisheen
Gardaí say they fired two shots after the driver tried to ram the car at officers who had been issuing verbal warnings to him.
