Man In Court Over Dundalk Murders

A Dublin man has appeared in court  charged with a double murder in County Louth four years ago.

The defendant, who was extradited from Spain late last night, has been charged with the murders of two men – also from Dublin, whose badly burnt remains were found by fire fighters, responding to a car fire close to the Louth/Armagh border.

Today, Det. Insp. Pat Marry of Dundalk Garda Station gave evidence of arresting 33 year old Jason O'Driscoll of Richmond
Avenue, Dublin 3 at Dublin Airport at 12.24am this morning on foot of two arrest warrants.

The court heard the accused made no reply when he was charged at Dundalk Garda Station at 1.35am with the murders of

32 year old Anthony Burnett and 25 year old Joseph Redmond at Ravensdale Park, Dromad on March 7th 2012.

Insp. Marry said he was seeking a remand in custody to Cloverhill District Court.

The Defence barrister said there was consent to the application, and Judge Conall Gibbons remanded the accused in custody to Cloverhill District Court this day week.
