Man in court over ongoing family feud

A 31 year old man charged in connection with an incident in Ennis last week during which a 43 year old man lost one of his fingers is due back before the courts tomorrow.

Patrick McDonagh of 26 Stonecourt, Drumbiggle is charged with assault causing harm to Bernard McDonagh and unlawfully producing an ironbar that was likely to intimidate another person at Market Place in Clare’s County Town on the 18th of May last.

In Ennis District Court yesterday gardaí outlined the facts of an incident that is part of an ongoing Traveller feud that required Patrick Mc Donagh to have ten staples in his head after an alleged attack by six males wielding iron bars and a hatchet on May 13th

Judge Joseph Managan refused bail to Patrick McDonagh and remanded him in custody to appear in court again tomorrow.
