A man has been seriously injured in a road crash in South East Clare overnight.
The single vehicle accident happened on the Broadford to Limerick road shortly before three o’clock this morning.
The male driver, believed to be in his twenties, has been taken to the Mid Western Regional Hospital in Limerick with serious head injuries.

Gardaí from Killaloe along with a fire crew from Scariff and ambulance from Limerick attended the scene
The road is closed this morning and will remain so for a number of hours as Gardaí carry out a technical examination of the scene
Diversions are in place this morning from Broadford village to Carmody’s Cross and Gardaí are advising motorists to expect delays.
Meanwhile, two people were injured in a two car collision in Ennis yesterday evening.
The accident happened on the Clare road opposite Francie Daly’s Garage around 7 o’clock.
Units from the Ennis fire brigade along with several ambulances and Gardaí attended the scene and two men were taken to Limerick Regional Hospital.
