A man has been sentenced to 12 months in jail after wearing a woman’s swimming outfit to help him steal items from pharmacies in West and North Clare.
27-year-old Emil Brasoveanu, with an address in Monivea Co. Galway was one of three offenders who targeted pharmacies in Ennistymon and Kilkee, as well as Miltown Malbay Post Office, on December 17th.
Ennis District Court heard that he Romanian wore the one piece swimming outfit back-to-front, under a jacket, as he stole hundreds of euro worth of goods and cosmetics.
Brasoveanu, who had a five-month suspended jail term activated in Cork last week, was sentenced to twelve-months in jail by Judge Patrick Durcan, who had imposed the same sentence on two others last month for their roles in the crime.
