Paddy’s Party Pills, Disko Bizkit and Speed Freak were just some of the names branded on the packs of pills seized during a search of Lukasz Pryba’s bedroom.

A total of 3,677 BZP tablets were recovered, the seizure came eight and a half months after the drug was made illegal in Ireland.

Detective Garda Eileen Ryan said in evidence the pills had previously been commonly sold in headshops.
Smaller quantities of amphetamine and cannabis herb were also seized.

Pryba told Gardaí he paid €2,000 for the drugs which had a combined street value of €24,000 and had intended to set up a shop in Ennis to sell them.

Judge Carroll Moran said it had been submitted by the defence that the 26-year-old had mis-read the legality of what he was doing.
