A man is recovering in hospital after being pulled from the River Fergus in Ennis last night.
The alarm was raised shortly after ten last night when he was spotted entering the water near Knox’s Bridge.

Gardai, members of civil defence and the Shannon Coastguard Helicopter were all involved in the rescue operation and the man was taken from the water a short time later.
He was rushed to the Mid Western Regional Hospital and is said to be in a comfortable condition.
