A man has been rescued from the River Shannon in Limerick.

Reports say emergency services were called at around 2pm this afternoon, after the man in his 50s was seen entering the water at Bishop's Quay area of the city.
Gardaí, ambulance personnel and units of the fire service went to the scene, while a rescue boat was also launched.
The man was found a short time later in shallow waters, and taken to University Hospital Limerick where his condition is described as stable.
