A post mortem examination is due to take place this afternoon on the body of Declan Smith.
The 32-year-old died in Beaumont Hospital overnight – after being shot in the face in Dublin a week ago.

The gun attack happened outside a crèche on Holywell Avenue in Donaghmede last Friday morning.
Declan Smith was known to Gardaí and was a close friend of the murdered Real IRA leader Alan Ryan.
