Clare gardaí are investigating a knife attack in Shannon at the weekend.
According to Shannon Gardaí , the victim was confronted by his attack after answering the front door of his home in the Cluain Airne Housing Estate at around 6.30 yesterday morning.
He was stabbed in the stomach before the unidentified attacker fled the scene.
The injured man called the emergency services and was treated at the scene before being taken to Limerick Regional Hospital for treatment but his condition isn’t believed to be life threatening.
The assailant is described as being in his early to mid twenties – 5′ 8" to 5′ 9" in height and wearing a green jacket or shirt.
