A manhunt is underway following an armed robbery at a shop in Ennis this evening.
A person entered Coote’s Shop on the Kilrush Road shortly before 4 o’clock this evening wearing head gear which covered their face.
Two members of staff were working in the shop at the time of the robbery.

The thief threatened a man working at the till with what is believed to be a gun and made away with a sum of cash.
The staff member then pursued the perpetrator down the Kilrush Road before losing him on the Rocky Road.
Gardaí in Ennis are examining CCTV footage in an effort to establish the person’s identity and are urging anyone with information on the incident or who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area to contact them on 065 684 8100.
