Marginal Increase In Land Values In Munster

A new report has found a marginal increase in land values in Munster last year.

11,600 euro per acre was paid for land in transactions relating to smaller holdings, but the 2% increase was smaller than Ireland's other provinces.

A joint survey issued by the Society of Chartered Surveyors of Ireland and Teagasc also shows the rental price for grazing land in Munster increased by 12 per cent to 180 euro.

Nationally, the survey indicates that the abolition of milk quotas has helped drive up the value of dairy farms.
