The Mayor of Clare has expressed concern that Knock Airport is being favoured over Shannon by the government, and in particular the Taoiseach.
Councillor Pat Hayes has made the claim after Knock was given a four million euro in capital funding and four new Ryanair routes, with no similar investments for Clare’s international airport.

The Government is currently considering the future governance arrangements for Shannon, with an announcement due to be made in the New Year and Councillor Hayes feels the people of Clare and beyond need to rise up on the airport’s behalf
