Clare Labour TD Michael McNamara has received assurances from the Public Expenditure Minister that he will consider providing funding for the repair of damage caused by the recent storm here in Clare.
Lahinch sustained the majority of the damage with the promenade completely devastated by Friday’s storm.
Elsewhere in North Clare, homes in Flaggy Shore near New Quay were hit, with walls and fences sustaining structural damage, while significant damage has also caused in Doolin and Doonbeg.
Engineers will assess the damage over the coming weeks, but it’s thought as much as one million euro worth of damage has been caused.
