A series of public meetings are taking place across the county over the coming months, beginning in Kilrush on February 14th, with further events in Ennis, Scarriff, Killaloe, Doolin and Shannon.

The meetings have been organised by Friends of Ennis Hospital, which has seen a number of local representatives joining its organising committee, following a demonstration at O'Connell Square earlier this month.

Meanwhile, today's Trolleywatch figures from the INMO show 45 people on trolleys at UHL this morning.

The figure is one of the highest in the country on a day which has seen the overall figure spike to over 500 once more.

One Ennisman who attended Dooradoyle with a family member this past weekend has called the standard of the ED there "embarrassing", meanwhile.
