The family of three year old Megan Malone – who’s undergoing treatment in New York for a rare from of cancer – have expressed hope that her treatment is working well after she began to walk again this week.
John Malone from Ennis is delighted by the progress made by his young daughter and was amazed when she took her first steps in months, after doctors feared she might never walk again.
Mr Malone, along with his wife Sheila and their other three children made the decision to move to New York temporarily for specialist treatment unavailable in Ireland in the hope that Megan could be given a chance of surviving her tumour.
Speaking to Clare FM, John Malone has thanked those who’ve donated money for the treatment, and as the family prepares for Christmas in their new home from home, he says Megan’s progress is a great boost to them all
