Angela Merkel is to address the German Parliament on how to tackle the Eurozone debt crisis this morning, with a crunch summit looming this day week.
The French President set out his stall yesterday evening in the city of Toulon, in a speech that saw Nicolas Sarkozy raise the prospect of a new treaty to deal with the single currency’s problems.
He warned that a banking collapse would see France’s debts double overnight – and called for greater convergence between states to avoid the euro’s destruction.
