The challenges facing Ireland today will be highlighted during this year’s Merriman Summer School in Ennis.
The seven day event gets underway at Glor this evening when historian Diarmiad Ferritor delivers the opening lecture in which he will recall the Ireland of the 1950’s.
This will then set the stage for debate and discussion on the challanges over half a centuary on , including the current economic downturn.
