Met Eireann is hitting back after being accused by retailers of being ‘alarmist’ with their weather warnings.
Retail Excellence Ireland says shoppers were put off by warnings for heavy rain and strong winds last weekend.
The group says businesses lost out on tens of millions of euro on what should have been one of the busiest weekends of the year.
