Lighting up on the grounds of Clare’s County Hospital will be banned from Thursday.
May 31st is World Anti-Tobacco day, and to mark the occasion, the HSE has announced it will be no longer possible to smoke at any of the Mid West Hospital Group sites including Ennis General and Dooradoyle.

The smoke-free campus policy means smoking will not be allowed anywhere on the hospital grounds, including outdoors, and the policy will apply to staff, patients and visitors.
Supports will be on offer help people kick the habit, and the scheme will be rolled out to all health campuses by 2015, but has been met with opposition by Ennis Councillor Tommy Brennan.
