US Companies in the Mid-West are calling on the government to fund the long awaited cargo facility at Shannon Airport to provide a much needed boost to the local economy.
The American Chamber of Commerce in the Mid-West says the proposed Lynx cargo facility would greatly enhance the support infrastructure for local industry and wants the government to come up with funding if the Dublin Airport Authority will not.
The group representing US Multinationals based in Clare and Limerick is also calling on the IDA and Shannon Development to focus on existing companies in a bid to create jobs and drive future growth.
Chairman Bill Doherty says he’s aware of the government’s indications that the Shannon cargo facility could happen soon, but it’s time for less talk and more action.
