Rape Crisis MidWest says the pressure of the pandemic triggered instances of past sexual abuse for many victims.
It comes as the centre recorded an increase of almost 75% in the number of calls they received in 2020.
The support provider noted that the helpline became a lifeline for survivors during the lockdown, and was used as a counselling service for those who were dealing with significant trauma.
