A letter has been sent to the Transport Minister, urging him to pause the appointment process for the new Chair of Shannon Group.
Chair of the Shannon Airport Oireachtas Group, Clare TD Joe Carey has expressed his dissatisfaction with the process, in the wake of the controversy over the appointment of businessman Aaron Forde earlier this week.
Mr Forde was forced to stand down just hours after his appointment, over controversial remarks he made on social media, for which he subsequently apologised.

The Shannon Airport group of 21 Midwest TDs has requested that a new process is entered into and that they and other stakeholders in the region are engaged with, ahead of a new recruitment process being entered into.
