The sound of music will be heard in Miltown Malbay this weekend as the Willie Clancy festival gets underway
The annual festival, which began in 1973, is expected to draw hundreds of music lovers, musicians and students to the north clare town – where an 8 day schedule of classes, ceili’s and sessions have been organised.
The Scoil Samhraidh is also expected to provide a significant financial boost of between 3 and 5 million euro to the local economy and local traders say the festival represents 20 per cent of the town’s annual turn over.
