Month long state of emergency in Egypt

A month long state of emergency has been declared in Egypt after more than 300 people were killed in violence yesterday.

Violence erupted yesterday after security forces stormed two camps in Cairo of supporters of ousted president Mohamed Morsi.

The health ministry has confirmed that 343 people are now dead.

Meanwhile tributes are being paid to a Sky News cameraman who was shot dead in Cairo while covering clashes between Egyptian security forces and protesters.

Mick Deane, who was married with two sons, died yesterday morning.

He’s been described by colleagues as "the very best of cameramen, a brilliant journalist and an inspiring mentor".
