Mubarak could be freed from jail today

A court in Egypt’s ordered the country’s former president Hosni Mubarak to be released from prison on bail.  

It’s reported he could be freed as early as today and then be placed under house arrest.

The 85-year-old faces charges of complicity in the killing of protesters during the uprising that forced him out of power 2 years ago.

Meanwhile, Irish diplomats have yet to confirm whether or not four Irish siblings are facing attempted murder charges in Egypt.

The Halawa family have been in military custody since last Saturday after their arrest at a mosque in Cairo last Friday.
