The Fine Gael party is now expected to add at least one of those names to the party ticket in Clare in January along with the names of sitting TDs Pat Breen and Joe Carey.

Tony Mulcahy contested the last General Election in 2007 securing 6% of first preference votes and says he’s now hoping for another chance to bring a fresh voice  – and a business mind  – to the new Dáil
