Almost half a million euro has been granted for flood relief works in Miltown Malbay.
The funding marks 90% of the overall cost of the necessary works to mitigate flooding issues in the West Clare town, with the remaining 10% being footed by Clare County Council.
Severe floods hit Miltown Malbay back in September 2015, severely impacting residents particularly in the Church Street area.

Fine Gael Senator Martin Conway says the work is long overdue – and has called on the local authority to begin work early next year.
