The Midwest representative of the Irish Postmasters' Union says fears over the future of Cratloe post office are representative of concerns across rural Ireland.
Over 200 people attended a public meeting in Cratloe last night, where an Action Group to save the facility was set up. They're now seeking an urgent meeting with An Post, who are carrying out a review, and hope this will take place this week.

The Irish Postmasters' Union says the government should bring extra services to post offices in a bid to maintain their viability.
Midwest spokesman, Kildysart native Tom O'Callaghan, says the situation in Cratloe shows the need for such reforms.
