Smokers are to be asked not to light up in Clare’s playgrounds today.
The HSE in partnership with Clare County Council, Clare Sports Partnership and 12 participating Community Playground Management Committees are launching a smoke free playgrounds initiative in the county today
The launch coincides with World No Tobacco Day and will entail the display of signs at playgrounds, asking people not to smoke.

Mayor of Clare, Tony Mulcahy and Mayor of Ennis Frankie Neylon will both be on hand for today’s launch, which takes place at 10.30 at the Fairgreen in Ennis.
