Councillor Bill Slattery is the new Cathaoirleach of the West Clare Municipal District.
The Lahinch Councillor was appointed to the role at the district AGM, replacing Christy Curtin.

Miltown Councillor Michael Hillary will serve as Leas Cathaoirleach.
Mr. Slattery says his first task in the role will be to try and ensure West Clare fares well in the new county development plan
