Money from dormant accounts at banks, building societies and post offices is to be used to boost a community policing project in Ennis.

The county town is home to a Garda Youth Diversion Project, which will be bolstered by some of the 19 million euro left untouched in peoples' accounts.
Other projects to benefit from a share of the money a framework for greater public participation in local government and the expansion of a Youth WOrk Initiative for the Mid-West, as part of the Limerick regeneration Agency.
