The government is being told that it needs to increase investment aimed at preventing violence against women.
Last Friday, a special cabinet meeting held to mark International Women’s Day saw the Istanbul Convention ratified, four years after the Government signed up to the agreement.
But Caitríona Gleeson of Safe Ireland says she believes that services need to be invested in so that victims have somewhere to turn to in cases of domestic violence.
