Enterprise Ireland is to launch a new fund for start-up aviation business, as part of efforts to help with the development of the sector in Shannon.
Over a dozen companies will be awarded up to 25,000 euro each to conduct feasibility studies aimed at optimising their competitiveness and in creating jobs, in what’s been described as a ‘ground-breaking innovation.’

The scheme will be administered from Enterprise Ireland’s office in Shannon.
Speaking to Limerick TD Kieran O’Donnell at a meeting of the Oireachtas Public Accounts Committee, Enterprise Ireland CEO Frank Ryan said the scheme could be extended further in the years ahead.
