New ideas for the local authorities like Clare County Council and the local town councils will be discussed at a Fine Gael Conference in Limerick today.
The meeting of Fine Gael Councillors from around the country is being chaired by Ennistymon Councillor Martin Conway in his role as a member of the party’s national executive, and it’s the first time elected local representatives have come together since the local elections.
Councillor Conway is hoping they’ll be able to influence changes in the funding for local councils now that Fine Gael holds a majority on most of the councils across the country
