The town of Ennis has a new mayor.
Fine Gael's Johnny Flynn has been unanimously elected to Chair the new Ennis Municipal District of Clare County Council this afternoon.

Kilnamona's James Breen is the new deputy Mayor.
The committee of eight councillors will oversee the running of Clare's county town and surrounding areas following on from the abolition of Ennis Town Council.
