Banks and Financial institutions are being urged to make more funding available to small businesses in West Clare in a bid to kick start the local economy and create jobs.
The new Mayor of Kilrush Liam Williams made the appeal to those in the banking sector as he was unanimously elected as Chairman of Kilrush Town Council last evening.
Councillor Williams said he was privileged to accept the Mayoral chains from his Fine Gael Colleague and outgoing mayor Marian McMahon-Jones, while the role of Vice Chairperson also went uncontested to Fine Gael Councillor – Ian Lynch.
Stressing the view that job creation in Kilrush must be a priority for all, Councillor Williams said that funding must flow if business is to be done in West Clare
