A set of push-button lights will be installed near Browne's junction which is a notoriously dangerous crossing point in the village.
Money has also been provided to improve pedestrian and vehicular safety on the main road between the GAA field and Poulawooly Bridge in Cratloe.
Meelick Councillor Cathal Crowe says the installation of a pedestrian crossing near the Woodcross is also likely.
