Proposals for a new primary school curriculum will be outlined today with the launch of three reports into literacy and communication skills for young children.
The National Council of Curriculum and Assessment commissioned the studies to inform changes that will be made to the primary school curriculum from 2014.

They suggest that children should be encouraged to develop their oral communication skills – and that reading and writing should be in both print and digital formats.
