Concerns have been expressed over the extent of the DAA involvement in the establishment of an independent Shannon Airport entity.
Details of the three bodies set to be involved in the process has been revealed to Clare FM today and comprises of a civil servant lead steering group – along with two task forces .
One is charged with seeking new business for the Midwest airport while the other will draw up proposals for the transfer of Shannon Development functions to the IDA, Enterprise Ireland and Tourism Ireland.
Several individuals with extensive aviation experience are included on the groups, along with representatives from Shannon Airport and Shannon Development.
However Local Councillor Patricia McCarthy has expressed concern about the level of involvement of the Dublin Airport Authority in the blueprint put forward by government.
