New study indicates major change in shopping habits

Irish shoppers have become smarter since the recession.

That’s according to a National Consumer Agency survey which shows there’s been a shift in our spending patterns over the past five years.

Almost 9 in 10 customers believe they’re now shopping more wisely with nearly 70 per cent going to less expensive stores.

More than half of those surveyed also claim they’re more likely to buy own-brand products.
